Geordie Shore's Ant Kennedy 'scared for future' as he reveals extent of injuries after Ibiza attack

Ant Kennedy has shared his concerns about the future, as he revealed the full extent of his injuries after being attacked in Ibiza and left fearing he'll be left with permanent nerve damage in his face.

Ant is one of the newest members of the Geordie Shore cast, signing up for series 21 alongside Louis Shaw and Amelia Lily. Making his debut on the show in summer 2020, Gateshead lad Ant became an instant favourite with viewers and, along with plenty of his co-stars, is expected to appear in the now confirmed Geordie Shore reunion series.

After doing some filming at an event in Newcastle earlier this month, Ant jetted off to Ibiza from Newcastle Airport on Friday, alongside Louis and other pals, with fellow Geordie Shore cast members Chloe Ferry, Abbie Holborn, Nathan Henry and Sophie Kasaei already over there. But, while Ant was in high spirits for his flight and as he went on his first night out on holiday, hours later it was a very different story, as he appeared on Instagram via a hospital bed to tell followers he'd been left with a broken jaw after being hit by two men.

Ant returned to Instagram on Sunday to share the full extent of his injuries, before he left hospital. Telling fans it hurt too much to speak, Ant wrote: "I was attacked by a man and his friend in Lineker sports bar in San Antonio Ibiza! Shout out to the manager there he was super helpful. This was an completely unprovoked attack I was simply dancing on a night out enjoying the first night of my holiday. So anyone asking if I have been fighting the answer is no, no I wasn’t fighting, I was brutally attacked!"

Talking about his injuries, Ant continued: "Came to Ibiza to get away, relax and have fun but instead I’ve had my jaw broken in 3 places both upper and lower, wires put in to keep my mouth shut, I have a numb face due to nerve damage from the punches! The feeling may or may not come back we don’t know and they have thrown in few stitches added in there for good measure. Pretty much resembling the elephant man at this point.

"Recover time we are looking at 4 - 6 months for the jaw, the nerve damage I don’t know! I also need rehabilitation as the upper part of my jaw can not be fixed with surgery due to its location."

Opening up about how the incident had affected him mentally,. Ant added: "As for the time it’s going to take to recover mentally… I’m not sure :/ but Im trying to stay optimistic! In all honesty biggest thing I’m scared of right now is the nerve damage.

"I literally can’t feel my face as the Neves are in a bad way! I’ve spoken to people who still haven’t got the feeling back after 12 years so…. there’s that! Anyone that knows me knows I’m not afraid to share my emotions and I do get upset and that’s ok I’m only human! When I sit and think about how this is going to effect my career, T.V work and how it could effect my future. What if the feeling in my face doesn’t come back? it does get a bit much and I’m overwhelmed with emotion but I’m trying to stay positive."

After thanking everyone for their well wishes, Ant ended his post by writing: "Not much left to say really other than a warning to anyone going on holiday with their mates in the future! Be careful out there the world can be a cruel place."

Geordie Shore co-star Amelia was one of the many people to comment underneath, writing: " Sending you so much love my big brother. You are the nicest guy and did not deserve this at all. Love you so much Ant." Chloe Ferry reacted: " Could cry for you," while Charlotte Crosby told him: "You got this Ant."
