Geordie Shore new boy Louis Shaw is actually from Yorkshire leaving fans confused

Geordie Shore fans have been left shocked by the reveal that one of the show's new cast members is actually from Yorkshire.

The MTV has been known to take a few liberties with geography over the years; who can forget the way Holly Hagan was treated in series one after her fellow cast members found out she was from Middlesbrough? And, perhaps most famously of all, fellow original Charlotte Crosby is a proud Sunderland lass.

Since Geordie Shore's debut in 2011, the show has featured a number of cast members who aren't technically Geordies, with current cast members Nathan Henry and Abbie Holborn from Teesside as well as former star Sam Gowland, who is missing from the new series after his split from co-star Chloe Ferry.

But producers have pulled their most non-Newcastle casting to date for series 21, which gets going on MTV on July 28.

Of Geordie Shore's three new cast members only Anth Kennedy is from Newcastle. New girl and former X Factor star Amelia Lily is from Middlesbrough and then there is Louis Shaw, who is from Barnsley!

Louis, 23, appeared on MTV last year, winning the first series of brutal dating show True Love or True Lies and viewers have been given a first look at his arrival into the Geordie Shore house in a teaser video which you can watch above.

Reacting to his voice, cast member Natalie Phillips exclaims: "Who the f*** is this and what is his accent?!" And her sentiments have been shared by fans of the show.

After the clip was posted on Geordie Shore's Facebook, some were left far from impressed. One commented: "how is that geordie shore then? I stopped watching it when gaz left," and another reacted: "Absolutely pointless if you're not going to put geordies in the house."
