Geordie Shore filming resumes after 18 month break as cast forced to isolate

After filming was put on hold for 18 months due to the coronavirus pandemic, it looks like it's full steam ahead for the new series of Geordie Shore.

While the last series of the MTV show aired last summer, in reality it was recorded at the end of 2019 and early 2020 before Covid-19 hit and earlier this year it was reported that the pandemic had thwarted plans for a huge reunion series in South America to mark its 10th birthday.

However, it looks like cameras will start rolling on a new run of Geordie Shore this week as several of its cast hinted that they'd be away from their social media for some time, with others revealing they'd been in isolation.

Chloe Ferry celebrates after landing £1.1m dream home

The most obvious nod to filming resuming came from Abbie Holborn who posted a picture of herself on Instagram along with the caption: "Day 9 of isolation finally over.

"After a year and a half of no filming it’s finally the time to get back to it tomorrow! Excited and nervous aren’t the words.

"See yous in 3 weeks!"

Geordie Shore original James Tindale also revealed he'd been in isolation as he uploaded a snap with the short caption "Day 9", while Nathan Henry uploaded a picture to his Instagram story of him enjoying a Nando's, revealing it was his last day in isolation.

Bethan Kershaw enjoyed some drinks on her last night in isolation, telling fans she'd "rather be hungover than nervous" about being back on the show while series 21 newcomer, Barnsley lad Louis Shaw, told his Instagram followers "I'm not going to be on my phone for a while."

One person who looks set to be missing from the new series is Chloe Ferry who posted a picture of Bethan, saying "I'm going to miss you baby. Good luck with filming."

Former X Factor star Amelia Lily also looks like being a likely absentee.

She joined the show last summer but is said to have quit already and will soon be on screen in the new series of Celebrity Karaoke Club.
