Geordie Shore anniversary 'in chaos' as new series in Colombia pushed back to summer

Geordie Shore's 10th anniversary series has reportedly been 'thrown into chaos' after original star Gaz Beadle snubbed the chance to return and plans to film in Colombia have been pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It was back in May 2011 that the Newcastle-based show burst onto TV screens and, while some locals and North East politicians were horrified by its first episode, the MTV series quickly became a huge hit not just in the UK but as far afield as Australia, where the cast became big stars.

A whopping 21 series of Geordie Shore have now aired, with X Factor star Amelia Lily a shock new addition last year, while original cast members like Gaz, Vicky Pattison and Charlotte Crosby have gone onto be millionaires.

It was revealed last year that bosses were planning to switch filming to Colombia as they invite former stars back to mark a decade of the show but Gaz is said to have refused the invite and now on-going travel restrictions have thwarted plans to take the cast to South America in coming weeks.

A source told The Sun : "It's total chaos - plane tickets had been booked, the cast had blocked out time in their schedule - but it's all been pushed back to summer now.

"They're scrambling to make things work - it's all tricky to book everyone back in for May."

After it was reported that Gaz had turned down the reunion, it was then rumoured that Charlotte had agreed to a shock return to the Geordie Shore fold, but only for a short stint as she has a lot going on at home this year and didn't want to be away from boyfriend Liam Beaumont for too long.
