Geoff Swaim explains why Nick Foles is good at utilizing the TE position

When it comes to utilizing the tight end position, there aren’t many quarterbacks who are better at it than Nick Foles. Understanding that, tight end Geoff Swaim signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason, and  he’s now witnessing first hand how Foles had great success with tight ends like Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert in the past.

Earlier this week, Swaim told the media that he’s really been impressed with Foles so far despite it being relatively early in the preseason process. He also told the media that he’s been really impressed with the veteran’s ball placement, which just may be the reason he’s been good at linking up with tight ends in the past.

Swaim may not just be pumping sunshine for the fans, as it appears the receivers are having identical success in the early stages of organized team activities. In years past, ball placement has been a big issue for the Jags’ receivers — and now that the area has been improved — it’s allowed the group to focus on other aspects of their game.

Ultimately, fans will have to wait until the pads go on before we can truly tell if Foles is a shot in the arm for the passing game, because right now contact isn’t really allowed. Still, it’s nice to see pass catchers like Swaim gelling and succeeding under Foles early because the momentum could continue into training camp.
