Gentleman Jack viewers left blushing over unexpected Suranne Jones lesbian sex scene

Gentleman Jack fans got more than they bargained for during episode two of the BBC drama starring Suranne Jones, with a lesbian sex scene suddenly flashing on screen in-between scenes.

The drama has featured steamy bedroom scenes before, in the first episode, with actress Suranne who plays lead character Anne Lister also having spoken about filming them.

But the latest racy scene caught viewers completely off guard, with Suranne’s character shown having sex with another character while in Paris.

Anne was progressing with her hopes of marrying a woman in the latest episode, having set her sights on Ann Walker.

She made her move by confessing her growing feelings for the heiress.

Not only that but she left her blushing as she brought up whether she’d kissed anyone, before telling her a story she’d heard of men in France sewing pocket holes into their trousers so that they can “pleasure themselves”.

The character was quick to deny she herself had done the same while in Paris, claiming she only visited to “study anatomy”.

Suddenly out of nowhere the screen changed to a flashback of her in France, getting pretty intimate with another woman.

Both Suranne and her co-star were completely nude in the scene, as viewers watched their characters carrying out a super racy sex act.

Viewers raced to Twitter to share their surprise at the scene, with the majority confessing they were left blushing over the unexpected moment.

One viewer hilariously said: “Wtf that was not what I wanted to see while sat watching with my family.”

Another tweeted: “Bloody hell that was a flashback and a half,” as a third tweeted: “Wow I even went red.”

A fourth fan tweeted: “That was, erm, shocking, funny, and very brief.”

Gentleman Jack continues Sundays at 9pm on BBC One.
