Gentle Odie needs a new home

An old age pooch is looking for a new place to call home.

Animal welfare experts are appealing to find a new home for Odie, a 15-year-old Collie cross who is currently living at Dogs Trust West Calder Rehoming Centre.

His carers say Odie is a sweet and gentle boy who despite his age still has a spring in his step.

A spokesperson for Dogs Trust said: “Odie loves being with people, especially getting lots of attention, or cuddling or snoozing away next to you.

“He likes going for short walks in woods where he can investigate, and he is always happy to meet calm doggy friends when out and about.

“Odie is looking for the retirement home of his dreams, he loves people so much that he can find it difficult spending time on his own and will need new owners who are around most of the day to provide him with lots of TLC. He would love his own garden where he can watch the world go by or sunbathe in a nice sunspot.

“He is house-trained and adores his home comforts, he can often be found curled up in a warm cosy bed, snoring or dreaming the day away.”

If you think you can offer Odie or any of the other 50 dogs currently available for rehoming please contact the centre on 01506 873459.

You can also follow Dogs Trust West Calder on Twitter @DT_WestCalder for regular updates on events and dogs available for rehoming.

Please look at the Dogs Trust website for access during the coronavirus outbreak.
