Here is your Leeds United morning digest for Thursday, July 30.
Gent boss issues Jonathan David transfer update
Gent manager Jess Thorup has offered a transfer update on the future of Jonathan David amid links with Leeds United.
Marcelo Bielsa's men have reportedly taken 'concrete steps' in their bid to sign David but face stiff competition.
The 20-year-old forward is believed to prefer a move to France but the Daily Telegraph are reporting that the Whites are making significant progress.
Thorup has spoken about the transfer speculation surrounding David in an interview with Belgian media.
Community Shield blow
Leeds United may have won the Championship and gained promotion to the Premier League but they have been dealt an FA Community Shield blow.
In reality it was a short gap between the seasons which had raised the hope of the possibility that Leeds could face Premier League champions Liverpool in the 2020/21 curtain-raiser, but those hopes have finally been dashed this morning.
The Football Association have now confirmed that either Arsenal or Chelsea (FA Cup finalists) will meet Premier League champions Liverpool in the FA Community Shield.

The league curtain-raiser will take place at Wembley and has a date set for Saturday August 29, two weeks before the 2020/21 Premier League campaign is set to begin.
Bid planned for defender
Leeds United are eyeing up Tottenham defender Juan Foyth and are willing to make a bid.
That's according to reports on Wednesday, who claim that the Whites have a £15 million ready for the 22-year-old.
Leeds are eager to also land Brighton's Ben White on a permanent deal but the club is opening the net wide when it comes to recruiting more defensive talent.
