According to leaked footage circulating online, players could experience a third-person shooter (TPS) mode alongside the action RPG combat system that has defined the game for years.
The rumored feature is expected to debut in Snezhnaya, the long-awaited Cryo nation. While the region has always been anticipated for its importance to the main storyline, recent leaks indicate it could also introduce an entirely new style of combat.

Instead of relying solely on swords, bows, or catalysts, the Traveler is seen using multiple weapon types, including rifles and grenade launchers. Each weapon appears to deal different Elemental damage, suggesting that Elemental Reactions will remain a central mechanic even within the new shooter-style gameplay.
The leaked clips also feature throwable grenades, aiming mechanics, and dedicated interface menus, indicating that the system is more advanced than a simple story-exclusive feature.
Firearms Could Become a Major Gameplay Feature
Early speculation suggested firearm gameplay would only appear during scripted missions. However, the latest leaks paint a different picture.
