Geno Smith replaces injured Russell Wilson, throws TD pass for Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks found themselves in a hole in the second half of an NFC West game with the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday. It got deeper when great quarterback Russell Wilson had to leave the game with an injured finger.

Wilson appeared to dislocate his finger in the second half. The training staff tried to pop it back into place. He remained in the game but after he went to the sideline, Wilson was unable to go and Geno Smith came into the game.

Smith led the Seahawks on a touchdown drive of 98 yards in 10 plays. The scoring play was a pass from Smith to DK Metcalf, good for 23 yards.

Smith was 5-for-5 on the drive for 72 yards and had a 6-yard run.

After the PAT, Seattle trailed, 16-14, in the fourth quarters/

It was Smith’s first TD pass since Dec. 3, 2017, when he was a New York Giant and threw a scoring pass to Evan Engram.
