Gennaro Gattuso took on Zlatan Ibrahimovic at martial arts as former Rangers star's training ground scrap revealed

Former Rangers star Gennaro Gattuso once took on Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a martial arts duel, Robinho has revealed.

The Italian was well-known for his fiery temperament as a player, with Andrea Pirlo revealing in his autobiography he used to stab his Milan team-mates with cutlery.

But it seems the former Rangers hero bit off more than he could chew when he opted to take on Zlatan Ibrahimovic at jiu-jitsu.

Robinho recalled in an interview with Marca: "Zlatan often said that he had convinced Milan to sign me.

"He'd say: 'you're here because of me'.

"Is he arrogant? Yes, but in a good way. He has confidence in his talent.

"For me, he is everything a striker should be: a showman and a winner.

"One day in training he challenged Gattuso to a jiu-jitsu fight.

"Right before your eyes you had this fierce guy doing martial arts against Zlatan - who is a black belt.

"Who won? Zlatan always wins..."
