Gennaro Gattuso linked to Tottenham job days after Newcastle United were credited with an interest

Gennaro Gattuso has been added to the shortlist of possible names to take over at Tottenham according to reports.

Reports in Italy claim that Gattuso has been 'watched' by Daniel Levy and is now on a shortlist alongside Antonio Conte and Simone Inzaghi.

Gattuso is currently in charge of Napoli where he's been in the dugout since late 2019 - winning the Coppa Italia last season.

This campaign could end with Napoli finishing in the top four but only three points separate fifth and second. But regardless of where they finish, Gattuso is expected to leave once the season is over.

He's been linked to Inter Milan and only last week Italian media credited Newcastle United with interest - reports claiming the Magpies had made contact over the World Cup winner.

Those reports were wide of the mark, and current head coach Steve Bruce looks very likely to start next season in charge of Newcastle other than for a change of heart from either himself or owner Mike Ashley.

Wolves have also been credited with an interest in Gattuso.
