Gennady Golovkin vs Sergiy Derevyanchenko purses and prize money

Gennady Golovkin and Sergiy Derevyanchenko vie for the vacant IBF middleweight belt on Saturday and the purses and prize money has been released.

The IBF title became vacant after Canelo Alvarez failed to reach an agreement to fight Derevyanchenko, with the WBA champion now fighting Sergey Kovalev at light-heavyweight.

'GGG' is searching to become a world champion once again after he was controversially defeated by Alvarez last year in Las Vegas and has since blown Steve Rolls away for the chance to become a champion once more.

Derevyanchenko, nicknamed 'The Techician' fights for the same belt that he lost out to last year, falling to split decision loss to Daniel Jacobs in his first professional defeat.

Ahead of the bout, the purses for Saturday night's fight have been released.

For the vacant middleweight title fight at New York's Madison Square Garden:

Gennady Golovkin - £12.2million

(£6.1m in cash, £6.1m in DAZN parent company equity).

Sergiy Derevyanchenko - £4.2million

Derevyanchenko enters the fight off the back of a unanimous decision victory over 'Golden Jack' Culcay in Minneapolis in April.

The Ukrainian holds a record of 13 wins and one loss ahead of the fight with his Kazakhstan rival.

However, Golovkin is full of confidence and, has gone so far to say that he wants a unification bout if he can overcome Derevyanchenko on Saturday night.

Golovkin takes on Derevyanchenko on Saturday night in the famed Madison Square Gardens as he looks to become a world champion for a second time.

The fight will be the only the second fight for Golovkin since losing to Alvarez last year.
