Some swear by adding vinegar to the water and others insist it must be swirling, but the TikTok cooking guru said all you need to do is crack the egg into a spoon.

Then, with the raw egg sitting in the spoon, slowly lower it into the boiling water so the outside cooks in the spoon - then transfer it to the water to poach the rest.

In the video, captioned 'this poached egg hack will change your brunch game', the man said: "So I was feeling kinda boujee still so we did not just do an egg and avo we went further and went poached egg and to be honest with you, it was quite delicious."

The video, uploaded on Friday, November 19, has already has more two million views and nearly 60,000 likes, alongside hundreds of comments.

One person said: "Ohhh good wee tip."

Another wrote: "That is the best hack I have ever seen in my entire life."

A third said: "Why have I never thought to poach an egg like that? That is genius”.

But other users picked fault with the technique, and said that it wasn't really poaching.

One said: "That's not a poached egg."

While a second added: "A steamed egg. Yikes, I prefer good old poachies with malt vinegar in the water."
