Genius hack to neaten wall edges when painting - without using masking tape

A savvy diyer has revealed just how she manages to get the edges of her walls so neat when painting.

Usually when it comes to painting you'll buy a roll of masking tape or a small brush to clean up any wonky edges, but not this woman.

Zara Parry took to the Facebook group Extreme Budget DIY & Life Hacks to share the tip with fellow DIY enthusiasts - and they were blown away, reports Daily Star.

Her savvy tip, which involves a wide hair tint brush, can also be seen here, where she's hailed a "genius."

If you've ever dyed your hair before, you'll probably have one lying around, but if not you can find similar ones on eBay for a bargain price of £1.20.

Captioning her post, she wrote: "DIY edging hack.

"No frog tape or expensive brushes. Just a hair tint brush."

In the video she uploaded she demonstrates just how simple it is - dipping her brush into the green paint, before removing the excess of the rim of the paint bucket.

Before making her way up the step ladder and revealing how to properly hold the brush to ensure you don't make any mistakes.

Holding it horizontally at the top of the wall just where it meets the ceiling, she wiggles the brush gently from side to side.

When she stands back to admire her work, she's left with the most crisp, straight line - why haven't we thought of this before?

And that's exactly what fellow DIY fans thought as they praised her handy hack.

Since being posted it has received over 1,000 likes, and has been commented on hundreds of times.

With one saying: "I’m 100% trying this!!!!!"

And a second wrote: "I've done this a few times, my friend thought I was mad and laughed at it, glad there's support for the idea here!"
