The viral clip shows an old blanket has been used to cover the windshield and roof of a car prior to a dump of snow.
Captioned 'quick little life hack when it snows', the user pulls off the blanket to reveal the dry and ice-free car below despite freezing temperatures.
The clip has been viewed more than 2 million times and proved to be popular with viewers, as one commented to say: "This is kind of genius."
Others took to the comments to suggest that shower curtains or heavy duty bin bag also do the trick.
It comes as experts have warned against using a viral hack to de-ice a car by filling a plastic carrier bag with boiling water and spreading it over the windshield.
AA is urging drivers to avoid trying this stunt as it could result in a future dent in the wallet.
A study from the motoring firm found that young people - aged 18-24 - are more than twice as likely to use boiling water to attack a sheet of ice on their car.
Another viral tip also suggested rubbing half a potato on the inside of your windows to stop them from steaming up.
Experts at the AA say that the potato could obscure the drivers vision if smeared over the windshield.
