Genius Christmas present wrapping hack solves paper problem we have all faced

A simple Christmas present wrapping paper hack has blown people's minds and been dubbed "sorcery".

In a video of the maneuver, an all too familiar problem is shown from the plan view.

A pair of hands can be seen trying to wrap a rectangle present in a piece of shiny green wrapping paper.

At first an attempt is made to draw the paper from either side across the gift which is in a portrait position.

This proves impossible, as the paper simply does not reach far enough.

The present is then turned landscape, which yields the same results.

Rather than grabbing a new piece of paper, clumsily attempting to graft on an extra bit to bridge the gap or simply cancelling Christmas, the crafty gift wrapper has a third move.

They swivel the present diagonally while keeping the paper in the same position.

The corners of the wrapping are then drawn across down from the top left and up from the bottom right, almost meeting in the middle.

After they are in place, the other corners are pulled across the box, completely covering it.

All that is left to do is to place a couple of pieces of cellotape at two opportune points.

The short video inspired a huge out pouring of emotions when it was posted on social media.

Russell Myers, Royal Editor of the Daily Mirror, retweeted the clip and asked: "What sorcery is this?"

Dr Ramaswamy asked why he had only now been alerted to this new way of wrapping presents.

Addie could only just express her sheer amazement.

While perhaps the best, the present wrapping tip is not the only Christmas hack to emerge this season.

Jane Day raised eyebrows when she revealed how she wraps her plastic Christmas tree - decorations and all - in cling film before storing it away for the year.

The following Yule Tide she has at it with a pair of scissors, unveiling a ready-to-go seasonal ornament.

As well as accusations that the practice takes the fun out of Christmas, the excess use of plastic may not be the most environmental of practices.
