Genius chicken kiev cooking hack unveiled online is mesmerising social media

The humble chicken kiev is already home to a lot of controversy, but nothing could quite prepare us for its latest round of attention.

One clever cook has gone viral all around the globe after sharing her hack to getting a tasty slice of garlic butter alongside every chicken kiev you put in the oven.

Posting on Facebook , Maria List said "Anyone else put a slice of bread under their chicken Kiev’s so it soaks up all that juicy garlic butter and you get a nice slice of garlic bread to go with it?".

But whilst Maria thought this was common practise amongst her fellow kiev fans, it seems she may be the only one to think up the genius idea to mop up all the otherwise wasted garlic butter with some bread, as the tip has since racked up thousands of comments from mesmerised fans.

Even British fashion brand Pretty Little Thing has applauded the hack, sharing her photos on their Facebook page earlier today alongside their usual affordable clothing announcements.

For those who still want more insight into the handy tactic, Maria has added that to get the perfect toast, "pop the bread under five minutes before the Kiev is cooked and turn half way. It will suck up all the garlic butter juices and toast at the same time".

Praising Maria for sharing her hack, one Facebook user named Vikki Lawrence said "Why have I not done this before?" whilst Ben Parry added "Where’s the genius emoji?"

Meanwhile others failed to see the attraction, with Damian Kelters arguing "Why not just buy garlic bread though?", although if you opted for Maria's technique, you could save yourself 32p and the extra plastic.

Perfect timing for university students, we wonder what other easy cooking hacks we're missing out on...
