Genius £1 teacher gift idea parents love this Christmas

It’s that time of year again, when the Christmas festivities have begun and you’re just so close to being done with your shopping.

If there’s one thing that often slips through the cracks in the run up to Christmas, it’s remembering thank you gifts for teachers.

Whether it’s due to being too busy or being cash-strapped during one of the most expensive times of year, we’re found a simple, cheap way to thank teachers for all their hard work that might help.

Mums across social media are sharing the simple trick which means you can get each teacher, assistant, dinner lady and anyone else you’re buying for a small gift for around £1, reports the MEN .

One mum shared the idea on a bargains Facebook page last Christmas and it's doing the rounds once again.

In the post, she shared a photo of the gifts her daughter had made for her teachers - and all you need is bars of chocolate, paper and felt tip pens.

She said: "I got 2 bars of chocolate, wrapped them and let my daughter decorate them for her 2 teachers for Christmas. Costed about £1 for chocolate as had everything else. I know it's not the best gift but it's the thought."

Other mums were quick to follow suit, creating their own designs and making it their own.

Claire Woollands shared a photo of her bars, decorated with a snowman design and said: "Just like what was posted yesterday but my daughter does a much simpler design but looks very effective.

Claire shared her version of the hack too (Manchester Evening News)

"£1 bar of Galaxy wrapped in white paper and decorated with felt pens for her teachers and friends."

Parents understandably loved it, with hundreds of them praising the 'brilliant idea'.

Many teachers commented too, saying they appreciate the handmade presents more than others.

One said: "I work in early years and this type of present is the best. I would be delighted to receive this from one of my wee children."

Another added: "Awww they are lovely - and as a teacher myself love the thought, time and care gone into making them special."
