Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas and Ryder Cup captain Steve Stricker will be grouped together for the first two rounds of the Genesis Invitational.
Woods, Thomas and Stricker will be one of four featured groups for this week’s Tour stop at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
Woods, the tournament host, is looking for his 83rd career win on the PGA Tour, which would set a record for most on Tour. In his last start two weeks ago at Torrey Pines, Woods closed with a 70 to tie for ninth.
This year marks the first that the Genesis has invitational status, meaning the field will be 120 players and the champion receives a three-year exemption on Tour. The tournament benefits Woods’ foundation.

The other featured groups for the first two rounds at Riviera include defending champion J.B. Holmes, Jon Rahm and Justin Rose; the group of Patrick Cantlay, Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy, and Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson.
