Generous Dumbarton FC players and fans make an egg-cellent Easter donation

Generous Dumbarton FC players and fans chipped in to collect more than 140 Easter eggs for a local foodbank.

A total of 142 eggs were donated to West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare (WDCF), with Sons skipper Stuart Carswell donating 20, and fellow players Conner Duthie, Ryan McGeever and Chris Smith (who left the club this week) also making donations.

Sons’ general manager Antonia Love handed over the donation to Kevin Gilmour of WDCF, who praised the team effort.

He said: “Many thanks to all those who made donations of Easter eggs at Dumbarton FC.

“We were absolutely delighted with the response.

“We will help make Easter an occasion with a little more celebration for people in need throughout the area.”

Antonia added: “Engagement with the community is a key part of our plans at Dumbarton FC and this was something we were only too glad to facilitate.

“Many thanks to all our supporters who donated Easter eggs, and to our players as well.

“Everybody should be very pleased with how they have done for the cause.”
