'Generational' - Arsenal fans can't believe what Gabriel has done ahead of Leeds United clash

Arsenal fans love what Gabriel Magalhaes did in training ahead of the Gunners' Premier League clash with Leeds United this weekend.

Gabriel hasn't quite lived up the billing just yet following his £27million transfer from Lille in the summer, but there have been positive signs in recent weeks.

After four games on the bench, which followed a suspension and four games out with coronavirus, the centre-back has played in both of Arsenal's last two outings, stepping in to replace the suspended David Luiz and impressing.

Gabriel is expected to keep his place as Arsenal look to end their run of three games without a win this weekend, when they face Leeds United at home.

Does David Luiz have a future at Arsenal?

And ahead of the Premier League clash, Gabriel has been showing his talent at the other end of the pitch during a training session at London Colney.

Footage has emerged of the defender curling a long-range effort into the top corner during training, and fans have enjoyed seeing that part of the Brazillian's game.

Gabriel does have two goals for Arsenal since his arrival from Lille, but none quite like this, and fans have been getting rather excited over the goal, hoping he can repeat it during a game that matters.

Here is how some fans reacted to the footage on social media.

Nuttella_Spread_it added on Reddit: "Honestly for the first half of this season so far he was our biggest attacking threat," while Echo361 wrote: "He does that pique thing sometimes where he just becomes a striker for 5 minutes."

Gabriel has made 14 Premier League appearances for the Gunners since his move from Lille, starting 13 of 24 games, spending six more games on the bench.

Though, Mikel Arteta has defended his centre-back over claims he is 'rusty', saying two weeks ago: "Maybe. He hasn’t played enough minutes in the last month or so since he had the COVID.

"He had to stay at home, he hasn’t trained as much as we would like him to. It’s a player that has done so well since he’s joined us.”
