Hundreds of protesters have descended on Downing Street chanting 'not my prime minister' after Boris Johnson's landslide election victory.
It comes after the Prime Minister addressed the nation on the steps of No.10 calling for "closure" to a period marred by Brexit divisions and saying it was time "to let the healing begin”.
Meanwhile, Mr Johnson called SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon to make clear his opposition to a second independence referendum after the party made wipe-out gains in Scotland.
Overnight, Jeremy Corbyn and Jo Swinson had a torrid time at the polls, with the former leading his party to its greatest loss since the 1930s, and the latter losing her seat.
