UK election news LIVE: Jeremy Corbyn vows to root out 'poisonous' blight of anti-Semitism

Jeremy Corbyn has accused the Chief Rabbi of being wrong about part of his criticism of Labour's handling of anti-Semitism, as he vowed to root out the "poisonous" blight from society.

The Labour leader declined to apologise four times to the Jewish community under questioning from veteran journalist Andrew Neil on Tuesday.

Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis and ex-Labour MPs have slammed Mr Corbyn's perceived inaction over allegations less than three weeks away from the December 12 general election.

Meanwhile, politicians from all parties are out campaigning ahead of the deadline for registering to vote at 11.59pm.
