Boris Johnson news live: PM sips cider on campaign trail after apologising for Islamaphobia within Tory ranks

Boris Johnson has insisted that he has not broken his drinking ban until he gets Brexit done as he sipped cider on a visit to Cornwall.

It comes after he apologised for the "hurt and offence" caused by Islamophobia in the Conservative Party after criticism from Muslim Council of Britain.

Meanwhile Jeremy Corbyn claims that he has obtained official documents showing that the US is demanding that the NHS will be "on the table" in talks on a post-Brexit trade deal - allegations the PM has labelled "total nonsense".

Meanwhile former Tory grandee Lord Heseltine has publicly backed Liberal Democrat candidates Chuka Umunna and Sam Gyimah while Jo Swinson made a chicken tikka masala at a restaurant in Glasgow.
