General election: Cowardly Boris Johnson continues to dodge BBC Andrew Neil interview

Boris Johnson repeatedly refused to confirm that he will take part in a BBC interview with presenter Andrew Neil.

The broadcaster has faced heavy criticism for failing to tie down the PM before going ahead with other interviews.

Jeremy Corbyn faced heavy questioning from Mr Neil on Tuesday - which saw the Labour leader criticised for failing to apologise for anti-Semitism in his party and the costings of the party's plans.

It was only after, the BBC admitted that it had yet to confirm a date with Mr Johnson it faced accusations of bias online.

Today, Mr Johnson was asked multiple times by if he would appear.

But he dodged the question.

It comes as it was suggested the Tories have said the PM would go on the BBC to be grilled - but on Sunday by Andrew Marr.

"I will have all sorts of interviews with all sorts of people," he said.

On Wednesday, the BBC Press Office tweeted it was "in ongoing discussions with his team but we haven't yet been able to fix a date" for the clash.

Mr Johnson confirmed the talks were still taking place, but he said it was "not my job" to make the final decision.

He added: "Other people than me are responsible for those discussions and negotiations, and I do not want to pre-empt what they may decide."

Asked if he was dodging scrutiny the PM said he was doing the current interview so he couldn't be scared of scrutiny.
