Eamon Ryan has told how he had 'positive' meetings with Sinn Fein, Fianna Fail and Fine Gael today.
The Green Party could be crucial to forming a coalition, with none of the three bigger parties having the numbers to form a Government.
Even if Sinn Fein and Fianna Fail agreed a deal, they would need six more seats or a confidence and supply agreement to form a Government.
Likewise, if Micheal Martin and Leo Varadkar decided to form a "grand coalition" rather than see Sinn Fein in power, they would need another eight seats.
Mr Ryan also plans to meet with Labour, the Social Democrats and Solidarity/People Before Profit in the next few days.
Speaking following the talks today, Mr Ryan said: “Today we opened discussions with a number of other political parties. I met with the leaders of Sinn Féin, Fianna Fáil, and Fine Gael.
"Shortly I will speak with the Labour Party.
“All meetings were positive and there has been a willingness amongst the other leaders to engage with the Green Party and the increased mandate of the party.
“We want to see serious and committed action to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss and we need to do that in a way that improves people’s quality of life and protects our economy.
“Over the coming days we will be speaking to the Social Democrats and Solidarity/People Before Profit. We look forward to further engagement with all parties.”
