The public have cast their votes and the counts have now started to find out who will be the country's next leader and represent them in their local constiuencies.
Voters went to the polls on Thursday December 12 for the snap pre-Christmas General Election called by Boris Johnson in a bid to break the Brexit deadlock in Parliament.
Polling stations opened at 7am and closed at 10pm.
Votes are then counted, verified and will begin to come in during the early hours of the morning.
The final results will not be announced until early Friday morning (December 13) but an idea of who is leading the charge will come to light as the results come in.
To be declared an outright winner, the party needs to gain a majority of 326.
