General election 2019: Matt Lucas predicts Jeremy Corbyn will 'sign up for Strictly'

Matt Lucas has predicted that the future of Jeremy Corbyn may not be in politics but on the dancefloor instead.

The Little Britain star has reacted to the disastrous general election exit polls for Labour by looking at what could be the next move for the party's leader.

The 45-year-old comic actor reacted to the prediction that the Conservatives would win by a huge majority by tweeting that Corbyn could be heading for Strictly rather than the House of Commons next year.

Matt tweeted: "I guess that’s Corbyn on Strictly next year then."

He was quickly met with a reply that was just as funny as the Matt's effort. They tweeted: "No way - he has two leftie feet."

Another thought that BBC's Strictly Come Dancing might be too much of a walk in the park for Corbyn and suggested that the I'm A Celebrity jungle would be a more appropriate place for him to pop up.

Others felt that Corbyn 'doesn't have the backbone' for a venture Down Under with Ant and Dec, while another commenter replied: "Too big a failure for I’m a Celeb"

TV shows were very much at the forefront of the mind of Matt's one million followers, with another replying that the jungle may not be the right place for Corbyn.

They tweeted: "No not 'Strictly'. 'Pointless' would be a far far more appropriate programme for him."

Just to be sure that all angles were covered, others urged that Corbyn would be better on ice and join Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on ITV's Dancing On Ice.

This proved problematic for one commenter, who asked: "Is there enough routines in which he can keep turning left?"

What is for certain, there could be plenty of destinations for Corbyn if he fancies a change from politics.
