
The General Commission for Audiovisual Media inaugurated on Monday the first cinema in Jeddah at the Red Sea Mall, reported the Saudi Press Agency.
The Vox Cinemas hall was inaugurated by General Commission for Audiovisual Media Chief Executive Badr bin Hussein Al-Zahrani on behalf of Minister of Media and Chairman of the General Commission for Audiovisual Media Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabana.
The event was attended by prominent local and international figures in the film industry and the media.
Zahrani said that the cinema journey in the Kingdom that was launched in April 2018 will continue in the future with the opening of more halls throughout Saudi Arabia.
He stressed that the opening of such entertainment venues is one of the most significant initiatives of the Quality of Life program 2020 that is part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
