Gemma Owen brings home 'cursed' item from Love Island as she teases future after reality show

She came runner-up on Love Island after finding romance with Luca Bish and Gemma Owen has teased about her future plans as she settles into life back in the UK after more than two months in Mallorca. The dressage rider, 19, found love with fishmonger Luca, 23, on the ITV2 dating contest.

And Gemma, from Chester, is looking forward to what lies ahead after arriving back home. Gemma, who has filmed Sunday night's reunion show with her fellow Islanders, shared a picture on her Instagram of a collection of drinks on a bar table with the word 'meetings.'

Supporters are predicting a bright future for the daughter of former footballing star turned pundit Michael Owen after her stint in the famous TV villa. And she thumbed her nose at the so-called bad luck beanbag from the poolside as she revealed that she brought it home with her.

Tagging in her fellow Islander Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, she shared a photo of herself on Instagram looking smiley and relaxed in the 'cursed' item as she said: "Look what's followed me home." And one fan remarked: "Not Gemma on the yellow bean bag."

Love Island contestants had a theory for figuring out who would be next to be dumped from the villa using the bright yellow beanbag. It was a seat that none of the Islanders wanted to use in fear of it bringing them bad luck.

On the spin-off show Unseen Bits narrator Ian Stirling described it as "the curse of the yellow bean bag." Davide Sanclimenti, who went on to win the show with Ekin-Su, sat on the beanbag before a night of drama erupted with his partner.

He was seen angrily kicking it away and Ekin-Su said in the beach hut: "I've just given up now with the yellow beanbag, it's p***** me right off. I just want to rip it up."

@zoe92137062 said as the series ended: "One of the finalists should take home the yellow bean bag, it would be iconic please." And @MyCouchHasADent wrote: "I am convinced that the minute Ekin Su crawled in her yellow dress, the curse of the yellow bean bag was born. Proving she is the true Queen of Love Island."

A Twitter account called@cursedbeanbag was even set up which tweeted: "Same time next year to cause more curses, dramas and arguments. It’s been a wild ride lots of love xx"
