Gemma Collins vows to wipe herself with leaves amid toilet roll shortage

Gemma Collins has bizarrely revealed she will wipe her bum with leaves when she runs out of her toilet roll supply amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The self-proclaimed diva, 39, said she will “happily” use Mother Nature’s resources should she experience a shortage of toilet roll during the crisis.

The supermarkets have seen a surge in stockpiling due to COVID-19 fears, with people bulk-buying items including such as rice, pasta and toilet roll - making it hard for many to get their hands on everyday essentials.

Speaking on her BBC podcast, the former TOWIE babe shared her musings on the crisis and how she would cope without certain necessities.

"What are the small things in life that we appreciate that we couldn't live without?” she asked her listeners.

After a short pause, the GC continued: “Well, at the minute toilet roll. I mean, I love toilet roll.”

The blonde bombshell then said if push comes to shove, she has “no issue” with using leaves to wipe herself in the woods.

"I am a bit of a herbalistic kind of individual. I'd happily go into the woods, should I need to, and get some leaves if it comes to it and I'd wipe myself with the leaves from Mother Nature...I have no issue with that.”

She added: "We're all getting too close for comfort. We are used to all these comforts around us. And it's just about appreciation. This whole podcast is about thought and appreciation."

Touching on her spiritual side, the happy-go-lucky star recently admitted she believes she's a prophet who was put on Earth to help end the pain and suffering of others.

Gem says that the suffering she's gone through herself will help her soothe others.

Comparing herself to Jesus Christ, she previously said on her podcast: "I honestly think I was put on the Earth to be some sort of prophet.

"It is something I will talk about in time. I have endured pain and suffering in my life, things haven't always been easy, I have suffered. And now I can help people in their lives."

The coronavirus epidemic is continuing to deepen, as London has been braced for a lockdown with 40 Tube stations already closed.

The capital has been branded a “city of superspreaders” by worried officials.

The first death in Northern Ireland was announced this morning, and the death toll in Scotland has now reached six people.
