Gemma Collins is heartbroken following the death of a close friend, who she says was 'like a little brother' to her.
The former TOWIE star took to her Instagram on Thursday to announce the sad news and that she is 'taking it easy' with time away from social media.
She apologised to her 2.2million followers for being so quiet on the social media platform recently as she came to terms with the tragic news of Rhys Alan Smith's passing.
In a rather glam selfie, Gem wrote: "Just felt like dressing up to get a cuppa from my fave @pelliccicafe. They make you feel so special and it means so much always."

She continued: "I've been so down recently and absolutely heartbroken after my dear friend more a little brother passed away. It's really cheered me up."
"Sorry I’ve been quiet on the gram but you just realise it’s all kinda BS when real things happen. I love you all @pelliccicafe and thank you for making a fuss of my mum."
"Chin up chicken xx" one person commented on her post.

Another penned: "He was such a lovely boy Rhys, so tragic. Just makes you think life is far too short."
"Take care my love," a third person wished.
Rhys was found dead in Tenerife, where he lived, in recent weeks.

Gemma, who was one of many TOWIE stars to strike up a close relationship with Rhys over the years, paid tribute to him on Instagram.
She commented on the last picture he had posted: "My heart will never be the same I won’t ever be the same love you Reece."
Gemma's ex James 'Arg' Argent, penned: "Love you mate".

Rhys was the ex-boyfriend of Harry Derbidge and they were together in 2013 before the make up artist started dating Bobby.
Harry, who is now engaged to beau Dean Rowland, later admitted he had cheated on Bobby at the beginning of their romance with Rhys.
Rhys is thought to have lived in Dubai before he moved out to Spain, where he is believed to have been training as a masseuse.
Gemma shared a close friendship with Rhys and they often went on holiday together.
