Gemma Collins says getting sick is 'best thing that's happened' to her after losing stone in a week

Gemma Collins has been a yo-yo dieter since she first burst onto our screens in TOWIE.

But her latest weight loss trick is one of her most concerning, as she admitted that she's happy she got sick with gastroenteritis as it meant she lost a stone in a week.

The GC, 38, said falling ill was the "best thing" that's happened to her as it helped her shed some weight quickly.

She told Heat magazine: "I have had gastroenteritis. It's absolute madness.

"I've been sick for a week and I've got to say on this occasion, it's the best thing that's happened to me, because I'm off to St Tropez."

Gem's weight loss is also thanks to another less than healthy option — weight loss injections.

The jabs can cause high blood pressure , nausea and insomnia, as well as gastroenteritis.

And according to the report, Gemma isn't taking them safely.

A source said: "She's still eating fast food and drinking what she likes, which is not recommended with the jabs, as it can put extra pressure on the liver.

"But she's got so much going on in her career right now that she doesn't have time to devote herself to a fitness regime, so this is a quick way of getting the body she wants."

Gemma's best friend Jonathan Cheban joked that Gemma has to be "carried out" of restaurants because she eats so much.

He told new! magazine: "She eats so much that I have to carry her out.

"I order the food and then she triple orders after me. She's the reorderer and that's the difference.

"I'll order the first round of amazing stuff and she'll be like, 'Can we have three more of those?' I'm like, 'What are you doing? We can't eat any more!' And she's like, 'Just bring them.'"
