Gemma Collins' mum Joan rushed to hospital with mystery illness

Worried Gemma Collins revealed her mother was back in hospital on Wednesday.

The Only Way Is Essex star shared a loving tribute to her mum Joan as she updated fans on her health, and thanked staff for looking after her.

Sharing a picture of her mother at happier times with a Louis Vuitton shopping bag in her hand, Gem went on to promise her that they'll be back on the town together very soon.

“Wishing my beautiful mummy a very speedy recovery who’s in hospital tonight," Gemma wrote.

"We will have you shopping very soon again JC... hope this post cheers you up."

She added: "Thank you to everyone at BARTS HOSPITAL for looking after my mum".

As Gemma shared the post, her fans were quick to extend their well wishes to Joan.

"Get well Joan," one said, while another added: "Well wishes to your mum. We only get one mum and they are very precious".

"I'm very sorry to hear your mum is poorly. Get well soon Gemma's Mum," a third wrote.

While Gemma didn't reveal what was wrong with her mum, her hospital dash is the second this year, after she sought medical help while battling pneumonia in February.

She's also suffered health woes in the past due to her rheumatoid arthritis, which got so bad that Gemma even feared she could die.

"I always tried to be really strong, so when I was with her I was happy, upbeat, like ‘Come on mum, you’re gonna be alright!'," she once told The Sun.

“Then I’d leave the house, get in my car and cry for hours...

“There were moments where me, my dad and my brother said, ‘Mum’s going to die’."
