Gemma Collins joins RuPaul's Drag Race UK to take part in iconic challenge

Gemma Collins is set to appear on RuPaul's Drag Race UK in one of the most iconic roles possible.

The TOWIE legend and Diva Forever star is said to be making an appearance in the second series of the contest to find the UK's next drag superstar.

And Gemma, 39, will have one of the most iconic roles that any guest on the show can have - playing the Snatch Game.

Gemma will answer Blankety Blank-style questions put to her by host Ru in the hope of matching with the contestants, who will all be impersonating celebrities.

It's always an episode that fans look forward to each series.

A source told the Daily Star: "Everyone is thrilled Gemma agreed to be part of the new series. She is a dream signing.

"Snatch Game is all about having a laugh, so Gemma is perfect for it.

"Last series saw contestant Cheryl Hole impersonate Gemma. So to now have Gemma taking part feels like things have gone full circle."

Gemma's representative did not want to comment.

The show is set to return to BBC Three in early 2021, with drag legend RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr taking their seats behind the judges' table once more.

The UK's first series was won by The Vivienne and went down a treat with British fans who've been watching the US show religiously for years.

The second series will also see comedy icon Dawn French appear as a guest judge.

The star said on Jessie Ware's Table Manners podcast: "They did originally ask me to be a full-time judge, but I couldn't – I don't live in London. But I am going to be a guest judge in a couple of weeks."

Speaking about the changes made due to the coronavirus pandemic, Dawn added: "I think there’s going to be Perspex between each judge kind of thing.

"That's a shame because I really do want to touch Ru!"

The BBC has also confirmed that a third series of the show will air later in 2021.

Ru said: "We feel honoured that you’ve embraced our little show, and our only wish is that we can offer a smile at a time when we can all use it the most."
