Gemma Collins 'in talks to play iconic role in Chicago The Musical'

Gemma Collins is reportedly in talks to star in beloved show, Chicago: The Musical.

The TV personality, 41, is set to tread and boards and play prison governor Mama Morton in the production, replacing Sinitta, The Sun reports.

The GC is hopeful the deal will be signed next week, sources say.

One source told The Sun: “Gemma has been in secret talks about playing Mama Morton for some time and is very excited about the opportunity.

“She has not signed anything yet as there are still issues to be ironed out with the agreement. But all being well, she will sign in the coming days.”

Gemma was a fan favourite on reality show TOWIE and has gone on to star in Celebrity Big Brother, I'm a Celeb and Dancing on Ice.

She is set to go on a seven-date tour with her show The GC's Big Night Out and recently won praise for her honest documentary, Gemma Collins : Self Harm and Me.

The theatre source went on: “Gemma is the ultimate TV diva. So who better to play Mama Morton — the Chicago prison mistress who rules the roost?

The star recently revealed she is a huge fan of dancing completely naked in the garden of her £1.3million mansion on a morning.

Speaking during an appearance on BBC's Would I Lie to You?, which is yet to air, she said: "I love to dance naked in my back garden. I do it every morning.

"It makes me feel at one with nature. It's so liberating.

"I love the feeling of the grass under my feet."

Gemma said she has no fear that her neighbours will see, as she's craftily planted 100 trees to block their view.

Her huge back garden also boasts a giant elephant statue - gifted to her after she donated £22,000 to a charity for the animals in India - which allows her to keep her nude dances private.

The GC moved into her jaw-dropping Essex pad back in 2020.

Gemma shared her disappointment as she revealed her home was "blown to pieces" by Storm Eunice.

Recording the devastation, Gemma was in a sombre mood after seeing the state of her prized possessions and her destroyed trees.

Recently, the star has been chronicling her weight loss journey.

Earlier this week, the businesswoman shared a snap of a small and very green salad with her 2.2million followers.

Glowing in a bright pink silk shirt with a Chanel bag on her lap, Gemma beamed as she enjoyed food out with friends.

Clearly on a strict diet, Gemma's lunch was a garden salad with a creamy dressing with a bottle of water.

Gemma is engaged to Rami Hawash, 44, after the pair rekindled their romance, and she announced the good news in December.

They had first started dating in 2011 and got engaged for the first time in 2013.
