Gemma Collins got 12 cakes, 100 bunches of flowers and D&G toaster for 40th birthday

Gemma Collins has revealed she was sent 12 cakes, 100 bunches of flowers, a designer toaster and a mountain of gifts for her 40th birthday.

The reality star hit the milestone on Sunday, and she was swamped with presents from her loved ones.

Speaking on her BBC podcast, Gemma admitted it will take weeks for her to open all her gifts.

She also declared her favourite present so far is a £500 Dolce and Gabbana toaster for her new home, which she was given by a group of her friends.

Gemma said: "It was one of the best birthdays I've had...

"I had troves and troves of gifts turning up at the house, I lost count. I must have had 100 bouquets of flowers, I had 12 birthday cakes.

"I literally had so many presents and there was so much I didn't know where to start.

"I got a Dolce and Gabbana toaster from all my girlfriends. I thought I can't put cheap bread in that - I'll have to have sour dour.

"It's going to take me about two weeks to open them all [all the presents]."

However, Gemma admits the greatest gift of all was having her dad home from hospital after his battle with coronavirus.

She said: "My dad has come home from hospital and he's starting to walk little by little.

"My dad is a very fit man, it was a real shock when he got Covid and he couldn't do any of those things any more.

"Slowly he's getting stronger every day and for me it's been the best gift of all."

Gemma Collins didn't sleep 'for days' when dad was in hospital

As well as her huge pile of presents, Gemma also got a huge balloon display and posted a picture online.

She wrote a sweet message to her friend and fans thanking them for all the love she'd been shown.

Gemma wrote: "I'm so overwhelmed with the gifts, flowers and everything being sent!" she wrote. "Thank you!"
