Gemma Collins eyes theatre move as she holds talks to star in ghostly stage show

Gemma Collins is swapping reality TV for the theatre, and is in talks to follow in Cheryl Tweedy ’s footsteps in the eerie West End play 2:22 A Ghost Story.

The former TOWIE star is likely to tread the boards later this year as Jenny, a role also previously played by Lily Allen, Giovanna Fletcher and Laura Whitmore.

The GC, 42, was to have starred in Chicago last year but had to pull out due to a knee injury.

A source said: “Gemma wants the challenge of acting to move her career forward. She likes the idea of this role as it is gritty, and not what anyone would expect her to do next. It’d be an incredible opportunity.”

Gemma has also been eyeing up Hollywood, after appearing in an Orange is the New Black feature for Netflix in 2018.

She once said: “I can bang out a reality show with my eyes shut, but I just feel I’ve outgrown a lot of it. You have to grow and develop.”

Having started out as a car saleswoman, the GC’s has certainly come a long way already.
