Gemma Collins 'embarrassed and heartbroken' by Dancing On Ice fall

Gemma Collins has broken her silence on her Dancing On Ice fall, telling fans she has been left “absolutely devastated and embarrassed”.

The reality TV star crashed to the floor during her skate on Sunday night with professional partner Matt Evers.

After struggling to hold back tears, Collins was praised by the judges as she received her highest score of the series so far – with 16.5 – and secured her place in next week’s show.

Collins, 37, has revealed that she feels “embarrassed” by the accident, and told how she managed to get back up by thinking about boxer Tyson Fury.

Sharing a clip of her routine on Instagram, Collins, who previously dubbed herself the “Conor McGregor of the ice,” wrote: “Absolutely devastated & embarrassed, My heart is broken. But when I went down I thought of @gypsyking101 Tyson Fury and knew I had to get back up & carry on!

“Can’t thank you enough for your support on social media and picking up the phone to vote! I’m in a lot of pain but bring on fantasy week!!!”

After Sunday night’s show, Collins sat with ice packs on her knees as she enjoyed a curry and “six large brandies” with her boyfriend James "Arg" Argent.

Arg posted a video of Collins and her supporting team on Instagram as he congratulated her on making it through another week, while the star joked she was “on the brandy” to help with the pain .

Earlier this month, she claimed that she had been left “throwing up on the ice” after stories about her “napping” backstage and “going AWOL” circulated.

As speculation swirled over whether Collins would quit the show, she told ITV’s Lorraine show: “No way I’m not quitting, I am the Conor McGregor of the ice. I will not defeated or beaten down. I’m coming out on Sunday Conor McGregor style.”

Dancing On Ice is on ITV, Sunday at 6pm
