Gemma Collins drops another stone despite 'agonising' side-effect of weight loss

Gemma Collins revealed she has dropped another stone following her three-stone weight loss.

The former TOWIE star, 44, has shed the weight since she began using NHS-approved Mounjaro weight loss injections in November 2024, going from size 26 to size 20.

However, over the summer Collins endured an “excruciating” apparent side-effect of the jabs that left her writing on the floor in agony.

The TV personality has now revealed she is still taking the injections, which have helped her drop 18 more pounds.

“I've actually just lost another stone and four pounds, I feel really good,” the Essex-born star told OK! magazine.

“I love myself as I am – you've got to be kind to yourself, it's just about constantly remembering to make those right choices and be mindful.”

Collins added: “I don't put pressure on myself. It didn't take you five minutes to gain it and it's not going to take you five minutes to lose it.”

Last week, the reality star revealed she had a “gallbladder attack” in August that could have been linked to her Mounjaro injections.

She recalled experiencing “agonising” pain a day before she was due to fly to Cyprus for her partner Rami Hawash’s birthday.

“I had a little gallbladder attack. I'm not sure if it's linked, they say it can be linked, it's not always the case, so I've had to slow down on it all for a bit,” she told the Daily Mail.

“We were going away for Rami's 50th and I was in excruciating pain. I'd taken him to a Ferrari day because it was his 50th birthday and we were flying the next day.

“I fell to the floor, whilst he was going round the track. And I was like, whoa, I'm in pain. And then I was thinking I'm gonna have to go and sit in A&E.”

Her doctor paid her a home visit and diagnosed her with gallstones.

Gallstones are small stones that form in the gallbladder. Some people may need surgery to remove the organ if they cause pain, according to the NHS.

Collins explained that she was given pain relief medication - which she still has now - and was able to go on holiday.

One of the common side effects of taking Mounjaro is thought to be gallstones.

Collins - who also had pneumonia over the summer - has been candid about the impact of her weight loss, previously telling fans she feared it had left her “looking older”.

“I really don't know what's happened to me, I really don't, it's just come on me overnight. But it has been a year since I've had any little tweakments,” she said.

“I don't know if it's since I've been losing weight. I sure haven't got ‘Ozempic face’ yet, but it would be the dream right now.”

She went on: “I've always had a fuller face, as you know. I do like expression around my eyes. I want to look natural still. But this just isn't right.

“What has happened? I am 44, but this is taking it to levels that I never, ever imagined it'd get to.”

“Ozempic face” is the term used to describe sagging skin or a gaunt appearance that can follow rapid weight loss, often linked to medications like semaglutides.
