Gemma Collins compares herself to Michael Jackson ahead of Dancing On Ice return

Gemma Collins has made an unusual choice of comparison in her latest interview.

The self-confessed diva has said that she is now so famous that her manager has started to ask shopping centres to shut down just for her - which she has compared to being like Michael Jackson.

Gemma, 38, also said that she believes it would be a 'security risk' because all people want to do is " touch The GC."

The former TOWIE star told The Daily Star : "I can't go shopping like I did before I was famous. It has to be planned now. I can't walk around a shopping centre.

"Even when I have four security guards with me, shoppers run towards me.

"It's fun, but it's difficult when you're trying to get your bits.

"I believe it would be considered a safety risk. It would be death by kisses and hugs. People all want to hug me. They want to touch The GC!"

She then added: "It has got to the stage like it did with Michael Jackson where my agent has to see if shopping centres will shut down for me."

Gemma will be back on screen tonight (Sunday) as she returns to Dancing On Ice for the ITV show's Christmas special.

She was one of the most talked about contestants of the January series - from falling head over heels during a live performance to getting feisty with former judge Jason Gardiner.

As well some old faces returning to the rink, there will also be a sneak peek at the skills of the celebrities taking part in the brand new series which airs next month.

Love Island's Maura Higgins, presenter Joe Swash and Steps singer Ian 'H' Watkins are amongst the stars taking to the ice.

Dancing on Ice at Christmas is on Sunday 22nd December on ITV at 7pm.
