Gemma Collins breaks social media silence after explosive split from James Argent

Gemma Collins has returned to social media days after she announced that she would be taking a break following her split from James Argent.

The 39-year-old TOWIE star put on a defiant front as she shared a birthday message for her pal and later unveiled a sizzling picture to promote her summer collection.

Gemma's latest social media furore comes days after the reality star called it quits with her on-off boyfriend James Argent.

At the start of the week, Gemma outed James for calling her a slew of cruel names including a "hippo" and "fat f***".

She shared a collection of savage screenshots of their exchange on her Instagram before quickly deleting the messages.

At the time she also wrote of her heartbreak and announced that she would take a break from social media.

"Hey guys as you can imagine I am absolutely heartbroken right now shocked totally in pain and can't ne pretending I'm all smiles over the gram, I am so upset and hurt, I need some time off the gram to heal x," she wrote.

Gemma then jetted off to Tenerife in Spain to take some time away from Essex.

On Thursday, Gemma finally returned with two new Instagram posts.

In the first cheery clip, Gemma proudly stood in front of a helicopter and did a wiggle next to Real Housewives Of Cheshire pal Dawn Ward.

"Happy birthday to the very beautiful kind and fabulous @dawnward4 love you loads .happy birthday. I’m very lucky to have you as a friend," Gemma penned alongside the Boomerang.

In her second post, Gemma shared a steamy snap where she cast a confident grin toward the camera.

The comment section underneath Gemma's latest photo was also flooded with messages from fans who showed their support following her difficult week.

"He who shall not be named, doesn’t deserve you petal," wrote one fan.

Another wrote: "Gem you look beautiful, you deserve so much better keep your dignity and respect , your knight is out there waiting for you my darling be patient."
