Gemma Collins’ boyfriend James Argent calls for star to win Dancing on Ice as he voices pride after row

Gemma Collins’ boyfriend James ‘Arg’ Argent shared a sweet tribute to the Dancing on Ice star, calling for her to win the competition in the wake of her heated exchange with Jason Gardiner.

Collins hit back at the Australian judge after he awarded her a measly three points for her routine to Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend on Sunday night, which he claimed lacked “elegance”.

Collins told him he was “boring” and accused him of “selling stories” about her, in reference to an interview in which he branded her “lazy” and “mediocre”.

Argent posted a picture of himself and Collins on Instagram, telling fans he is “proud” of how well she has handled the backlash after she made it through to next week.

He wrote: “WOW...Don’t sell stories on the GC!!! WELL DONE @gemmacollins1. Myself & William are your biggest and littlest fans!

“To perform at all after the week you’ve had is nothing short of amazing. I love you so much & I’m so proud of you. Bring on next week!!! @dancingonice @itv GCToWinDOI.”

Gemma Collins gets into an argument with Jason Gardiner on Dancing On Ice

Gardiner compared Collins to Anna Nicole Smith on Sunday night as he pointed out that she needs to do more than her fellow female competitors because “we’re not going to see any big lifts from you [and] we’re not going to get any impressive moves”.

Collins replied: “Can I just say one thing? Maybe if you didn’t sell stories on me, maybe I wouldn’t have been so upset this week. So take that. Boring. Next. Don’t sell stories on me. Don’t sell stories on me. Please don’t sell stories on me.”

The reality TV star found an unlikely defender in Piers Morgan who branded Gardiner “inappropriate” and “unprofessional”.

Dancing on Ice is on ITV, Sunday at 6pm
