Gemma Collins and James Argent split 'isn't what it seems' says Bobby Norris

Gemma Collins' best friend Bobby Norris has opened up about her split from James Argent.

Reports that The GC, 39, and Arg, 32, had broken up emerged earlier this week with claims that she had refused to get into an open relationship with him.

She then shocked her fans when she leaked his abusive texts in which he branded her a "hippo" and "fat f**k".

Speaking on FUBAR Radio tonight, Bobby, 33, said the breakup isn't what it seems.

Explaining that what has been reported about the breakup isn't necessarily true, Bobby said: "Sometimes you know more than what you're reading or you know that things might not always be what you see."

The TOWIE star admitted it has been hard watching his two friends row so publicly.

He added: "I just hope that they’re both okay. Both doing well and both happy, whether that’s together or not, I wish them well."

"It's sad when any relationship potentially breaks up or things happen.

"When it's two people you know very well and you've worked with many years, it's always sad.

"I hope they're both doing well. I hear she's on holiday at the moment so that might take the sting out of it a little bit."

It was claimed that Arg was inspired to start seeing other people after the news reports about Will Smith and his wife Jada's open marriage, but Gemma was having none of it.

Gemma then shared a string of hateful messages Arg sent to her during a row as he accused her of not being supportive in his recovery from addiction.

She has now apologised for leaking the texts.

In a screenshot obtained by MailOnline, Gemma writes: "I'm sorry I put the messages up I was just so hurt you suggested an open relationship it didn't look like a joke when you typed it I was so upset but I shouldn't have put the messages up that was anger on my part which was wrong I am sorry about that x."
