Gemma Atkinson has shared a heartbreaking admission in a social media post as 'pregnancy hormones' hit.
The Hits Radio presenter, who is currently expecting her first child with Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka Marquez, shared an emotional message on her Instagram page about her late father.
Writing to her million followers, Gemma, 34, wrote: "It dawned on me today the wonderful relationship I had with my grandparents when I was growing up, and then it hit me my dad won't get to meet his grandchild.
"Seems crazy... I blame the pregnancy hormones but today has been a bloody rollercoaster. Fits of laughter to sobbing. Thankfully, I had cookies."
The Bury actress made the frank comment next to an image which read: "My dad taught me everything, except how to live without him."
Despite blaming her outburst on the effects of pregnancy, but her message resonated with her followers with many quick to share their own stories and offer Gemma some comforting words.
One fan said: "So true, I lost my dad recently and it’s still really hard, I’m sure he’s still with you and will see his grandchild when it arrives."
Another commented: "I had the same thing with all 3 of mine it's normal but doesn't make it easier. Enjoy the cookies."
A third added: "Take comfort in knowing how proud of you your Dad would be. Such a lovely, caring, successful and inspirational woman and mum to be. Keep smiling lovely."

Gemma's dad David died from a heart attack when she was just 17.
She posted another tribute to her dad earlier this year when she climbed Mount Teide whilst holidaying in Tenerife.
The former Emmerdale star said she hadn't visited the mountain since her dad passed away and described her return as "bittersweet".
Gemma and Gorka announced they were to become parents in February by posting an adorable photo of their dogs Ollie and Norman on Instagram, posing with little signs around their necks which read: "Guess what...Mummy's pregnant! We're going to be big brothers!"
