Gemma Atkinson upstaged by adorable dog as she launches a chocolate bar

Gemma Atkinson was upstaged as she combined two of her favourite things to launch a chocolate bar.

The Hits Radio presenter from Bury launched a special chocolate bar to raise funds for Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary in Edenfield.

The animal lover, who dotes on her two beloved pooches Ollie and Norman, admitted that rescue dog Pip stole the limelight at the launch.

Pip, who the sanctuary has tried to re-home but has been returned, is the face of the chocolate bar by The Chocolate Cafe in Ramsbottom to raise funds for the charity.

She posted a photo on her Instagram showing herself next to Pip, and she told her followers: "Each month the bars will feature one of the sanctuaries locals and the first one is of the lovely rescue dog Pip who’s stealing the limelight in this picture!"

And Bleakholt wrote: "Rescue dog Pip is the face of the new chocolate bar!

"We have tried to re-home Pip but sadly he has been returned.

"When he returns, he comes back wagging his tail and is a joy to look after! He trusts everyone here so is happy to be with us and we love him to bits."

Gemma said: “This combines two of my favourite things – animals and chocolate!

"It’s great that a local business like The Chocolate Cafe is supporting a local charity and they are working together to help raise money.

"I have two dogs, Norman and Ollie, who are loved to bits and I know the good work Bleakholt does with all their animals.

"Pip is a lovely dog who unfortunately struggles in a home but can live out a brilliant life at Bleakholt.”

When Gemma revealed that she was expecting her first baby, a daughter Mia, with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Gorka Marquez she ensured that her pet dogs were central to the exciting announcement.

Ollie and Norman posed with little signs around their necks.

Sproodle Norman’s sign said: “Guess what… Mummy’s pregnant!”

And Cocker Spaniel Ollie had one that said: “We’re going to be big brothers!”
