Gemma Atkinson scowls over fiancé Gorka Marquez's trip to Miami as 'everything goes wrong'

Gemma Atkinson sarcastically, albeit jokingly, hoped that her Strictly Come Dancing star fiancé was enjoying his trip away as she admitted that everything was 'going wrong' at home. The Hits Radio host is currently flying solo at home after Gorka Marquez jetted off to Miami for work and to see some friends.

Back at their Greater Manchester home, Gemma and daughter Mia, three, are currently living amongst some building work, having to use a temporary space as a kitchen as theirs gets ripped out. But on Monday, things progressively got worse for the mum-of-one as she suffered a series of unfortunate mishaps.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Gemma, 38, could be seen in a black hoodie under a black puffer coat with a pair of black glasses pushed back on top of her head with her blonde locks scraped back out of her face. However, it wasn't clear where exactly she was until she started to explain.

"So you know when you have those days where everything goes wrong..." she started. "Woke up this morning [and had] no electricity, no hot water, nothing. The house was freezing. I brushed Mia off to pre-school and the electricians came out."

She said the workers who came out were 'fabulous' and soon found a fault under the tarmac near the road. "It's only my house that's gone so they've put a generator outside my house and they're going to come back and dig up the road to fix it," she explained.

With her morning 'taken up' by the Pallava and thinking that was the end of it and things would be sorted, she decided to head over to her mum's for a shower before work. But that wasn't quite meant to be either as she ended up at the Mercedes garage with a nail in her tyre.

"I'm getting that sorted before I go to work," Gemma said. "I've just phoned by boss at work saying I might be a bit late but I'll keep you posted. Hung the phone up and my brace, I've got a fixed brace at the top of my teeth, has f***ing come off."

The former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale actress fumed: "Jesus Christ. What else is going to happen to me today." After swearing again- and who can blame her - she added: "So that's no hot water, no electricity, a puncture in my tyre and a broken brace all in... I got up at 7, what time is it now? I don't even know what time it is. I don't even know what day it is."

"Surely nothing else can happen. Please. I know it's Blue Monday but frig me. Hey ho though," she added before turning her attention to Gorka. "Gorka's in Miami though," she said tagging her man. "I hope you're having a nice time, Gorka. I hope you're on the beach. I hope you're having a nice breakfast," she added scowling at the camera.

Last week when heading from Manchester to London for his flight to Miami, Gorka took part in an Instagram Q&A and he finally addressed why he wasn't taking part in the upcoming Strictly Live tour as celebrity dance partner Helen Skelton hits the road - and it comes down to his family. The Spanish-born star said: "After the Strictly series I always like to take some down time to spend quality time with Gem and Mia."

He continued: "I am grateful for the work but I also think spending time with family is important. Time flies and we won't get those memories back." But he did have another message for fans. Sharing a picture of himself and Helen, 39, following their reunion prior to his trip last week, the 32-year-old said: "But please do go and watch @strictlycomedancinglive it's gonna be amazing!!" He also added: "And make sure you VOTE for @helenskelton and @kaiwidd."

After he missed out on lifting the Glitterball trophy alongside Helen, with many fans saying they were 'robbed', it was reported that Gorka was going to quit the show after seven years. While Gemma quickly squashed the claims, Gorka took his time, and before the new year, on Instagram, Gorka shared a selfie of himself alongside Gemma and their daughter Mia as they headed off back to his home city in Spain after Christmas. As one fan said they "couldn’t believe" he had "left Strictly", Gorka responded: "Don’t believe it!" with a winking emoji.
