Gemma Atkinson offers heart-warming pregnancy update as she goes for incredible 4D scan and says 'not long now'

Gemma Atkinson has given fans a pregnancy update as she prepares to welcome her second child. The Hits Radio host announced back in January that she and her fiancé, Gorka Marquez, were expanding their brood after welcoming their first child, daughter Mia, in 2019.

Bury-born Gemma and Strictly Come Dancing star Gorka shared the joyous news on social media after the mum-of-two-to-be said it had become "impossible" to hide her baby bump any longer, telling fans they would be welcoming a baby boy this summer. And the 38-year-old has since been keeping her fans updated on her pregnancy with her usual humour and honesty.

On Tuesday evening (April 18), Gemma shared her latest update on social media, posting a 4D scan of her unborn son. "Got to see our not so little man today," the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star wrote alongside the amazing picture, adding a heart and crying laughing emoji.

"He's all limbs and deciding to lay fist pumping my upper abdomen which is just wonderful when trying to sleep, eat or just breathe normally," Gemma managed to laugh. "All healthy though and strong heartbeat so couldn't ask for me," she added with a red heart before rounding off her post: "Not much longer," adding faces holding back tears emoji and tagging her dancer beau.

It comes after Gemma shared how she has 'crazy feelings of emotions' as the sun set on her last holiday before giving birth to her second child. Ahead of their son's arrival, Gemma and Gorka, 32, whisked Mia off for some quality family time during the recent half-term break.

But as their sunshine trip came to an end, Gemma reflected on the end of their holiday and looking ahead to what was next for them as a family. Posting a video of her and Mia taking in the view from the sea, she wrote on her Instagram Story: "Last sunset in the sea for a while..." adding a face holding back tears emoji and a red heart.

She then followed up the post with an image of her and her little girl standing with the sand between their toes as the sea rocked back and forth in front of them.

Adding a GIF which read: "My little lady," Gemma then wrote: "Crazy feelings of emotions right now. Knowing this is the last time our holiday is just us, but also the excitement of the next one with my son as well." She then added: "Parenting is a full on rollercoaster indeed."

After returning back to her Greater Manchester home, Gemma jokingly pleaded 'give me strength' as she replied to a negative comment she received after giving fans a glimpse into her daughter and unborn son's new rooms.

Last month, she shared how she and Gorka were planning a change to their abode ahead of their son's arrival. Talking to the camera in one of their empty bedrooms, she said in a video on her Instagram Story: "Big day today... Mia's moving into her big bedroom."

She then explained: "Well, she's not moving into it today but we're decorating it today because I want to get her into her big room before little man comes. Obviously, he'll be in our room for a little bit but then he'll go in her room and I don't want her to think she's been turfed out."

Gemma then revealed how she reached out to a businesswoman on Instagram who paints murals meaning Mia will have her own spectacular display in her grown-up bedroom. And last week, the former soap star showed off the finished results after jetting back from a sunshine break.
