Gemma Atkinson left shaken as she details distressing car journey with baby Mia in Bury

Gemma Atkinson was left shaken following a distressing car journey while out with baby Mia.

The Hits Radio presenter was travelling with her 17-month-old daughter when she was forced to pull over.

Explaining on her Instagram stories, a visibly shaken Gemma explained: "I'm just driving home, I've pulled over, I can't get out, I've got Mia with me.

"Just going down a dual carriage way and a little Chihuahua, a Chihuahua, has ran out into the road."

The 36-year-old continued: "Oh my god. It wasn't with anyone, it ran across, it had no collar on.

"I've circled around, and obviously I can't see it and I can't get out and look for it because I've got Mia with me.

"Oh my god a little Chihuahua in Bury, near Peel Way if anyone knows that."

After safely getting home, Gemma was still worried about the little dog and spoke to her followers again.

"A Chihuahua, it could have just got out couldn't it? I couldn't get out, could I?

"Oh I hope it's found, the little thing," she added.

Gemma has had a busy weekend after watching her partner Gorka Marquez compete in the Strictly Come Dancing final.

The couple, and Mia, were finally reunited on Sunday after spending nine weeks apart due to the show's Covid secure measures.
